Several unique terms and phrases describe the features of hardware we review on this site, some easier to grasp than others. This list briefly defines terms relevant to Sports MP3 Player.
Ratings FeaturesWe considered the number of practical features each sport mp3 player offers and ranked them accordingly. Features EqualizerThis function allows you to customize your music by changing the bass, treble and more so it will sound how you like it. Many players also come with pre-set modes like rock, classical, custom, etc. Built-in Clock The mp3 player's display has a clock. Calendar and/or Alarm The mp3 player has a calendar feature that will allow you to enter your contacts, tasks, and appointments. Repeat You can set the player to repeat a series of songs or a particular playlist over and over. Shuffle You can set the player so it will randomly play songs. Sports Functions Lap SplitsThe stopwatch will record individual laps and provides total time (the sum of all the lap times). This feature is important for runners, bikers, skaters and any athlete who makes multiple laps while training or racing. Countdown The stopwatch will countdown from a set amount of time. Therefore, if you want to run for 15 minutes the player will tell you how much time you have left and alert you when the time is up. Voice Alerts/Feedback The mp3 player has audio alerts that will relay important information like distance traveled and times. Distance The sport mp3 player will record the distance traveled. Calories The mp3 player will record the calories you've burned. Pace The sport mp3 player will record your pace or your speed. This is nice if you run in or after rainstorms or use the player while skiing. Neckstrap The manufacturer has created a neckstrap that will hold your mp3 player during exercise.
